"My first wall raising event was a very memorable event.  To actually be on the job site with the family and the volunteers made the Habitat mission very clear."

Inspiration that led you to Habitat for Humanity-Mesa County:

"I have always believed that home ownership helps to create pride in the owners, not only with respect to themselves and their home, but also pride in their community. Anyone who is willing to work towards the dream of a house should have the opportunity to fulfill that dream, and we should all contribute in at least some way to truly offer a “hand up rather than a hand out.”

Most memorable moment working with Habitat for Humanity-Mesa County:

"My first family visit. The future owners and their kids were so excited about the prospect of owning a house, and leaving a very inconvenient, crowded and uncomfortable housing situation. I played trucks on the floor with the kids after we talked details with the parents, and it was very rewarding to hear them talk about having a place to play when they moved into their new house."

I feel honored to help folks through the application process and communicate with folks who are approved as partner/s.  The heartfelt joy they share is always memorable.

Inspiration that led you to Habitat for Humanity-Mesa County:
When I found out it was a benefit to the entire community – by the structure of Habitat’s home sales, the home is an amenity to the family without being a detriment to neighboring property values.

Most memorable moment working with Habitat for Humanity-Mesa County:

" Home turnovers are always special – above all when you are in the organization volunteering with friends and see how touching the organization is, not only to you, but to everyone involved."
